The
White Mountain Swim Club is being formed to provide the citizens of the
White Mountain area an aquatics program that could bring swimmers together
so they could, exercise in a swim work-out environment, socialize with other
swimmers, improve their swimming stroke technique through interaction with
other swimmers, and to keep interest going for competitive swimming. The
club is geared towards swimming enthusiasts of all ages from 5 through 90
years of age. It is the hope of the swim club to encourage stroke
development through monthly stroke clinics, physical and cardiovascular
exercise through posted workouts for three different levels of swimmers, and
competitive swimming through keeping club members informed of swim meets
throughout the state and region and encouraging participation at both
USS meets and
US Masters swim meets.
The swim club will not register swimmers for USS or Masters, however, if it
is the desire of the swimmer to be involved and registered with USS or
Masters swimming, the club will have contact information for these
organizations.
The
club will be set up as a do-it-yourself program. There will be no coaching
or instruction provided on deck. Any coaching or instruction will occur at
the monthly stoke clinics, and between the members who are swimming. At
each scheduled “practice”, the Show Low Aquatic Center will have three
different workouts posted each bearing different skill levels. |

to log the distance he/she swims each work out and tally them up. When they
reach a certain distance they can have the logbook checked off by aquatic center
management to receive their fabulous prize.
