announces recruitment for the position of an Aquatics Center Lifeguard.

Salary:
$6.50 / hour
The Job: Assume certain responsibilities,
primarily, the safety of recreational swimmers. Reports to the Aquatics
Director with the indirect supervision by the Community Services
Supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Requirements:
Qualifications include the ability to effectively meet and deal with the
public, ability to communicate verbally and in writing, ability to handle
stressful situations. Applicant must take this position seriously, as the
safety of all participants is the primary responsibility. Applicant must
enjoy water and be a strong swimmer. Must be a self-starter capable of
following through on assignments and duties assigned. Applicant must be
able to work morning, early afternoon, late afternoon, and evening hours as
determined by the schedule.
Certifications:
Preferred certifications include: CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding, Water Safety
Instructor. If necessary we will train qualified applicants.
Selection Process:
Will consist of an application screening with the most qualified candidates
being invited to participate in a personal interview. Appointment subject
to successful completion of background investigation and City-paid,
pre-employment, post-offer, physical examination and drug screening.
