Youth Basketball Rules
1.
There is no full court press. Half court press is allowed until
ten-point lead by one team or another. Violation: TECHNICAL FOUL
2.
Non-shooting fouls will not be shot. Team will be awarded the ball
out of bounds until the seventh team foul is committed, then one and one
opportunity. After 10th team foul: TWO SHOTS.
3. Foul during an unsuccessful shoot attempt: TWO FREE THROWS. Foul
during a successful shooting attempt: ONE FREE THROW.

Technical fouls are two shots plus the ball out of bounds.

Technical fouls are committed when a team: a) uses full court press,
b) uses half court press after ten point lead, c) unsportsmanlike conduct,
do as deemed necessary by officials.

Personal fouls will be called. When an individual receives 5
fouls they will be asked to sit out the rest of the game.
7.
Game Time: 6-minute quarters; continuous clock for the first 4
minutes. The clock will stop for the last 2 minutes. Each team will be
allowed two (1) one minutes time-outs per half. The half time will last for
5 minutes. There will be one minute between quarters.
8.
All players will play in each game. All players must play a
recommended minimum of 15 minutes, unless they have fouled out.
9.
Coaches are expected to display proper sportsmanship at all times.
PARTICIPATION is stressed. League standings will not be kept. There will
be no tournament at the end of the season. Sportsmanship and participation
awards will be given.
10.
FIGHTING: Automatic one (1) game suspension subject to review by the
league director.
11.
In case of a tie, there will be a three minute overtime period
(regulation time), with one (1) time-out per team. Continuous clock first
two minutes: stops on every whistle in the last minute.
