SHOW LOW PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING OF TUESDAY, MARCH 25, 2008
* * * LEGAL ACTION SUMMARY * * *
Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the
Show Low Planning & Zoning Commission and to the general public that a meeting,
which shall be open to the public, will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008,
at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 180 N. 9th St,
Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona. The agenda for this meeting will be as
follows:
1. Call to Order. Chairman Skillin
called the meeting to order at 7:08 PM. Due to audio difficulties, the
meeting was not broadcast live on City 4 TV and will not be available for
viewing at a later date.
2. Roll Call.
3. Invocation (by volunteer).
4. Pledge of Allegiance (by volunteer).
5. Public Hearings.

Public Hearing and
Consideration to revise the definition of Guest Houses, add a new definition
for Guest Units in Section 15-1-21, and add wording regarding Guest Houses
and Guest Units in all residential zoning districts in Section 15 of the
City Code.
Commissioner Isaacs moved to
approve the proposed zone text changes as presented by staff, and forward
that recommendation to the city council for approval. Vice-Chairman
Latham seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Recommended changes proposed by staff: changes to
Chapter 15, including the modification of section 15-1-44 to add subsection
W, and the modification of sections 15-1-21 (Definitions), 15-1-49 GA-5
Zone, General Agricultural (five acres), 15-1-50 AR-43,
Agricultural-Residential (forty-three thousand square feet), 15-1-51.1
R1-20 zone, Single-Family Residential, Manufactured Homes Excluded (twenty
thousand square feet), Sec. 15-1-52 R1-15 Zone, Single-Family Residential,
manufactured homes excluded (fifteen thousand square feet), Sec. 15-1-53
R1-10 Zone, Single-Family Residential, manufactured homes excluded (ten
thousand square feet), Sec. 15-1-54 R1-7 Zone, Single-Family Residential
(seven thousand square feet), Sec. 15-1-57 MH Zone, Manufactured Housing.

Public Hearing and
Consideration to create a definition of Non-Chartered Financial Institutions
in section 15-1-21 and revise the C-2 Zone, General Commercial uses outlined
in Section 15-1-60 of the City Code.
Vice-Chairman Latham moved to
approve changes to create a definition of non-chartered financial
institutions in section 15-1-21, and revise the C-2 Zone, General Commercial
uses section 15-1-60 of the city code, to restrict non-chartered financial
institutions to the C-2 district only, as a conditional use and require a
minimum of 1,320 feet between uses as presented by staff in the updated
version, and forward these recommendations to the city council.
Commissioner Johnson seconded the motion. The motion passed 5-1
(Commissioner Isaacs voted against the motion) |

Any citizen desiring to speak on a matter that is
NOT scheduled on this agenda may do so at this time. Speakers shall identify
themselves on the record and may be limited to three minutes per person.
Comments shall be addressed to the Planning and Zoning Commission as a whole,
and not to any individual member. Issues raised shall be limited to those within
the jurisdiction of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Pursuant to the Arizona
Open Meeting Law, the Commission cannot discuss or act on items presented at
this time; however, at the conclusion of the call to the public, individual
members may (1) respond to criticism made by those who have spoken, (2) ask
staff to review a matter, or (3) ask that a matter be put on a future agenda for
discussion.
9. Approval of Minutes.
The minutes were approved by unanimous
consent.
