Paper & Cardboard

A wide variety of materials comprise the paper & cardboard category including: standard lined and printer
paper, newspaper, magazines, cardboard, paper towels and towel rolls, milk and juice containers, cereal
boxes and other cardboard food containers and junk mail.

There are two value-added services in the area that collect and process recycled paper and cardboard: 

Pinetop-Lakeside Sanitary District

The Pinetop-Lakeside Sanitary District located in Lakeside, Arizona operates a “digester” that combines
paper, cardboard, woodchips and de-watered bio solids to create high quality compost available for purchase
by the public. Public tours are available. For more information, call 928-368-5370, ext. 227. 

Waste Management provides drop off bins for public use throughout the area that supply paper products for
the Pinetop-Lakeside Sanitary District’s digester:

Show Low

·        Tall Pines Care & Rehab (formerly Infinia @ Show Low Nursing Home); 2401 E. Hunt Drive (next to
Summit Regional Medical Center and across from Summit’s East Campus).

·        Show Low City Hall; 550 N. 9th Place (just north of Deuce of Clubs).

·        Sunshine Herbs; 1020 E. Huning St.

·        Park Pineway Plaza; 4421 S. White Mountain Rd. (near Taco Bell).

·        Lone Pine Transfer Station; 7654 Lone Pine Dam Rd. (at Hwy. 77).


·        Pinetop Lakeside Sanitary District; 2600 W. Alisa Lane (off Hansen Lane).

·        Larson Public Library; 1595 Johnson Dr.

·        Pinetop Fire Station; 1845 S. Pinelake Rd. (behind Circle K and adjacent to fire station).

·        Lakeside Civic Center; 1360 N. Niels Hansen Lane. 

Catalyst Paper Corporation

The Catalyst Paper Corporation located in Snowflake, Arizona processes recycled newspaper and magazines
to make paper. Leftover waste paper fiber (250 tons daily) is sent to the Snowflake White Mountain Biomass
Plant and is used as fuel to produce electricity. For more information, go to Snowflake White Mountain Power

Drop off bins for public use that supply paper products to the Catalyst Plant are located in several locations:


·        LDS Church Parking Lot; 175 E. 9th Street South. Proceeds benefit American Legion and Boy Scouts
of America. 


·        TBS Waste; 2 E. Cattle Lane (across the street from Sonic Restaurant).

 Other drop off bins for public use:


·        Holbrook Recycling Center; 201 W. Bucket of Blood.
